The present survey throws light on the information resources and services etc. available in undergraduate college libraries of Chitradurga and Challakere towns. The study covers 10 different types of under graduate colleges. The present survey collected the data from 69 faculties of different disciplines regarding library resources, services, physical facilities and Internet and computerization of library services etc. It is concluded that no library surveyed is not developed as per the UGC norms especially with regard to automation/digitization of library services.Keywords

This paper deals with the present conditions/status of 10 first grade college libraries in Chitradurga and Challakere town. The Investigators designed a set of questionnaires and distributed to the First Grade College/Under Graduate College librarians for collecting the required data for the present study. The analysis of the collected data covers the organization set up of the college libraries, different type sources and services, physical facilities provided by the library authority, status of computerization of different areas and internet facilities to users. Finally concludes that the present statuses of first grade college libraries are not meeting the prescribed norms.Keywords

This article describes in brief, a survey conducted at Jawaharalal Nehru National College of Engineering Library, Shimoga (Karnataka) to find out the use of CD-ROMS and INTERNET resources and services. The study also covers the impact of these resources on the student academic work/study. Also describes the problems faced in using the electronic resources. Hence, A survey of 110 undergraduate and post-graduate (BE) Students of different disciplines was conducted through questionnaire. Finally, it is concluded that the main intention using CDs and INTERNET resources and services has been the academic interest of the student community.Keywords

Evaluates the use of library facilities and information resources in First Grade Colleges in Shimoga District (Karnatak). A survey of 400 faculty members from thirty-degree colleges in Shimoga district was conducted through a questionnaire. The collected data covers the use of library resources, services, viz, reference services, inter library loan, photocopying services etc., classification and cataloguing and physical facilities provided by the college authorities. Concludes that, the main intention for the use of libraries has been the academic interest of the faculty.Keywords
